Perform aerothermal analysis and design of wind tunnel facilities in the hypersonic M>5 regime. CFD and thermal analysis of supersonic and hypersonic internal non-reactive flow streams. Nozzle aerodynamic design and analysis.
The candidate will be required to support Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) and interact with government and private industry customers in support of science and technology research and development as well as fielded system operational support. Analytic tools such as finite element analysis codes, aerothermal analysis tools, and computational fluid dynamics tools will be utilized to support the analysis and design activities. Software development may be required to support enhancement of analytic methods. Additional responsibilities will include test and evaluation of materials, components, and systems addressing thermal performance in hypersonic test facilities such as regenerative storage heaters (lasers/solar arrays), blow down facilities, and aerothermal wind tunnel facilities.
