i3 is seeking a Junior Linux System Administrator. The Linux System Administrator will be responsible for maintaining server health and status and providing technical assistance to RHEL issues. A professional and courteous demeanor is required in all circumstances. Candidate must possess excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and telephone etiquette. Above average ability to interpret, analyze, troubleshoot and resolve technical problems. Must be decisive, conscientious and interact well in a team environment or training capacity. Individual should have a strong desire to learn and be able to follow policies and procedures. The Linux System Administrator will work closely with the ISSO, system administrators, and users to ensure that functionality is not impacted by security updates. The Linux System Administrator will also perform cursory analysis on other components of the Program to include, but not limited to, Windows environment; networking components; and general architecture.


A successful candidate will:

  • Experience with Ansible
  • Be responsible for loading and supporting required RHEL system software, test applications and GOTS (Government Off The Shelf) Software.
  • Support, troubleshoot and resolve software/hardware conflicts/problems on these platforms: RedHat Enterprise Linux, , VMware ESXi 5.5/6.0, VMware vCenter, configuration and installation of related peripherals.
  • Possess strong script troubleshooting and generation for automating redundant tasks.
  • Configure all Linux operating systems in accordance with best practices and DISA STIGs.
  • Coordinate efforts with Information Assurance personnel to resolve STIG issues.
  • Be able to quickly adapt to new situations, have a strong commitment to a team environment, maintain a capacity to work with little supervision, and the willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Possess the capacity to work unsupervised and has an ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with co-workers as well as management.
  • Possess experience with filesystem storage administration, inherent integrity applications, iptables, and permission sets.
  • Maintain an awareness of trends within the technology industry, researching and testing to determine how they could help our company.


  • BS Degree or equivalent experience plus 4 additional years of relevant work experience.
  • Must possess an active CompTIA Security+ or equivalent NIST 8570 certification.
  • Secret Clearance preferred. Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance is required.
