Overview

As a Program Manager (PM) and overall Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the Virtual Training, Simulation, and Gaming (VTSG) Portfolio, you will be responsible for cost, schedule, and performance of i3 VTSG US Air Force Virtual Training applications, interactive multimedia instruction (IMI) technology projects and provide subject matter expertise on various Air Force platforms to include manned and unmanned. In order to be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in project management, managing and leading creative teams, and interfacing/briefing Corporate Executives and DoD customers. You should have an understanding of the Air Force Acquisition Process and Air Force System Programs Office (SPO) funding channels and be highly familiar with the structure and function of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command (AETC). You should also possess the know-how and ability to manage, grow, and expand on-going efforts and secure new efforts within AETC. 

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate is capable of providing on-site customer interaction, evaluate GFI, and lead the development of courseware design documentation. You will conduct planning short term, mid-term, and long term planning for the business entity and the programs your team supports. You will coordinate daily tasks and work with government customers, support contractors and Team i3 project and functional leads to ensure compliance with project management plans and integrated master schedules. Other duties include: tracking project costs and schedules, generation and explanation of reports to provide updates to management and Government customers.

  • Oversee and provide direction to Project leads in the conduct activities associated with administering and managing software development using AGILE\SCRUM methodologies across multiple projects. 
  • Oversee and provide direction to Project leads activities associated with administering and managing infrastructure design, deployment and operations and maintenance.
  • Provide oversight and direction to Project Leads across multiple projects as it pertains to Project Plans, and Controls, and the coordination and evaluation of all aspects of the project’s management program.
  • Ensure proper performance occurs of quality control of processes and products produced by the Technical, Requirements and Analysis Teams.
  • Review, write, interpret and analyze technical documentation related to the development and implementation of requirements.
  • Perform planning in support of existing and projected organizational mission requirements; and make assessments and recommendations as to overall resource capability to answer existing/projected requirements and identify resource shortfalls.
  • Interacts and coordinates with Government customers daily.
  • Interacts with and updates VTSG Leadership daily.
  • Negotiates with school house to create products with the most value to the end-user.
  • Analyzes contractual commitments, specifications, design changes, etc. to plan and develop program activities from conceptual stage through delivery.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Equivalent or Senior Level Military Experience (O5 / GS-14 and above).
  • 3 to 5+ Years of experience as a Project Manager greater than 10 years leading organizations.
  • Experience with customer sets: AETC, AFSOC, ANG, ACC, etc.
  • Experience with USAF unmanned and/or manned aircraft.
  • Clearance: SECRET or ability to obtain and maintain.
