Overview

i3 is seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to support a model and simulation lab for the Army's Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC) software development effort. The selected applicant will provide troubleshooting support as well as on-site administration of Windows, Linux and VMware system in a model and simulation lab as part of the software development, test, and integration team.

Responsibilities

The Junior Systems Administrator responsibilities will include:

  • Assist core team with configuration and maintenance of complex tactical and commercial computer systems.
  • Provide timely technical support for developers and work with them to solve existing problems.
  • Conduct day-to-day system administration of the hardware and software in a software test and integration lab.
  • Provides hands-on system administration support, system maintenance and operations support.
  • Diagnose and corrects computer, server and network system issues.
  • Initiate customer contact, escalates to appropriate parties and resolve incidents.
  • Responds to technical issues as they arise.
  • Perform other IT duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. Degree from an accredited academic institution in a relevant technical discipline or three (3) or more years of relevant technical experience.
  • Experience or training setting up and maintaining Windows, Linux and VMware operating systems and related hardware.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance.
  • Must possess CompTIA Security+ (SY0-501 or newer) or be able to obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Customer focused with a desire to ensure success.
  • Desire to continue to learn and grow.

Additional Desired Skill Sets:

  • Active DOD Secret Clearance highly preferred.
  • Strong Help Desk Support/IT Support background.
  • Experience implementing DOD STIGs.
  • Experience with SCAP, ACAS, and HBSS a plus.
  • Experience with Windows Active Directory and Windows Server 2019.
  • Experience with the DOD Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Experience with RHEL or CentOS 7/8.
  • Experience with VMware, ESXi, Horizon, and vCenter.
