DevSecOps Engineer

i3 is seeking a driven DevSecOps Engineer to help spearhead adoption of modern DevSecOps principles & practices for a large government enterprise environment. These efforts will be in support of a ground-breaking Army initiative out of the PEO Missiles and Space program office. Efforts will be focused on providing diverse infrastructure solutions utilizing a variety of Information Technology.


  • Generating streamlined SOP's & reference documentation that help eliminate team silos
  • Identifying and applying automation to daily operations
  • Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and application
  • Measure and optimize system performance, with an emphasis on pushing capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve
  • Assess architectures and implementations for security vulnerabilities and design secure solutions
  • Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large distributed software applications
  • Configuration Management and System Administration
  • Participating in designing solutions for the modern enterprise to include:
    • Application & infrastructure monitoring
    • Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
    • Providing technical security input at project inception
    • Platform management and capacity planning


  • High-level scripting proficiency in one of the following: Python, Go, Ruby, or Bash
  • 4-10 years working with UNIX or UNIX-like systems, preferably RHEL and/or CentOS 
  • Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain Clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD 8570.01-M compliance
  • Familiarity with Virtualization and containerization technologies
  • Experience with a configuration management platform, such as Ansible, Saltstack, or Puppet
  • Strong communication skills adept at translating technical topics to a diverse audience
  • Familiarity with modern software development methodologies
  • Analytical troubleshooting skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with designing & analyzing distributed systems
  • Experience with common monitoring tool sets, such as Prometheus, LibreNMS, Nagios, etc.
  • Experience with common CI/CD pipeline build automation tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, Travis CI
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tool sets
  • Experience with containerization platforms and container orchestration
  • Experience with the Atlassian suite of collaboration products
  • Knowledgeable of zero trust networking principles
  • DoD RMF experience
