Our idea candidate has both a UX background and a solid graphic design skillset, as well as familiarity and experience with the Unity game engine. The Lead UI/UX Designer workshops their efforts with the Creative Director weekly to ensure the design and implementation of UI is cohesive, and reports progress of their efforts to the Game Design Tech Lead daily.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Regularly workshop UI/UX with the Creative Director and their team to maintain a cohesive design and user experience throughout a product, providing expertise and mentorship to other designers along the way.
  • Leverage human-centered design thinking and questioning techniques to develop strategies where pathways are not always clear.
  • Iterate quickly and flexibly on User Flow, Persona, and other UX approaches to pivot on designs as work is assessed and addressed by stakeholders.
  • Successfully use and apply wireframes to interface concepts.
  • Create prototypes and/or mockups to show and demonstrate interactions.
  • Help implement, alongside developers, finalized UI/UX into Unity.
  • Provide feedback to developers as UI/UX is implemented to ensure the experience is cohesive.
  • Report to the Game Design Tech Lead daily on progress and blocks.

Required experience, skills, and traits:

  • 3+ years’ experience in graphic design, with focused efforts in visual user interface design.
  • Ability to create clean, visually consistent designs.
  • In-depth knowledge and skill in the “Adobe Trifecta” -- Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign -- as well as working knowledge and/or understanding of other optional tools, such as XD, Sketch, Figma, Balsamic, etc.
  • Understanding and appreciation of standard user interface design concepts and processes across multiple platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts clearly and persuasively across audiences at various levels of understanding.
  • Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple design requests in a timely fashion.
  • Knowledgeable in creating wireframes, visual mockups graphics, user workflows, and low and high-fidelity prototypes.
  • Ability to work with other designers and developers to implement new ideas.

Preferred experience, skills, and traits:

  • 1+ years’ experience with the Unity game engine.
  • Experience outside UI/UX that demonstrates a variability of design skill.
  • Previous experience with human-centered design principles and practices, typography and color, and multi-device usability standards.
  • Contributions as a leader in design, and a strong collaborator across product managers and engineers.

  • Please submit a link to a portfolio of work that shows both UI and UX skills.
