Overview

i3 is seeking a Software Field Representative to provide on-site technical support for the Universal Mission Simulator (UMS) Trainer Systems to include installation, setup, checkout, and User training. Candidate will provide software, and systems support for the Multiple Unified Simulation Environments (MUSE) systems developed by the Joint Systems Integration Lab (JSIL) for Project Manager Unmanned Aerial Systems (PM UAS) that are integrated into the Universal Ground Control Station (UGCS) and UMS. This position will require integration of GOTS/COTS/OEM software and hardware components, understanding of wired/wireless networking, and application of the systems development lifecycle for system sustainment. 

Responsibilities

  • Perform trouble shooting of UMS.
  • Perform maintenance and system updates IAW established procedures.
  • Perform software installations for Shadow and Gray Eagle on the UGCS and UMS systems.
  • Perform system upgrades and integration activities for training systems at CONUS and OCONUS locations.
  • Perform operational training of the UMS system.
  • Assist in training scenario development.
  • Track UMS hardware and software configurations.
  • Track and maintain hardware inventories and failures.
  • Track utilization rates.
  • Maintain networking and firewall configurations for training and simulation environments.
  • Maintain Information Assurance (IA) currency on training products.
  • Maintain process/procedures for UMS software fielding.
  • Maintain contact with the units in the region, schedule and support UMS operation for training events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 3 years experience in related field or a minimum of 9 years experience with no degree.
  • Experience with Windows, UNIX/Linux, VMware ESX, and Java technologies.
  • Experience in Cisco and Juniper firewalls.
  • Experience in applying security controls to Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, is strongly desired and experience with.
  • DISA STIG implementation.
  • Experience integrating, using, and training with the Shadow, Gray Eagle, and Hunter MUSE products.
  • Experience with PM UAS Ground Control Stations such as TUAV, Block II OSGCS, and UGCS variants.
  • Scripting experience.
  • Excellent technical writing.
  • Ability/desire to work in a highly dynamic and challenging environment a must.

Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance is required.
  • Active Secret clearance preferred.
