i3 is seeking a Product Integration Engineer in Huntsville, AL. 


This is a Product Integration Engineer position supporting a government software office addressing Army Air and Missile Defense systems, with focus on Mission Command (MC) systems, and integrating new Sensors into the MC architecture. The candidate in this role will function within the project office’s Software Directorate and will work with contractors, government civilians, and system operators. The candidate must have a proven track record of being a self-starter and excelling in a fast-paced working environment while engaging various levels of stakeholders to ensure the software developed meets requirement and the needs of the intended users.
The Software System Engineer serves as the PM IFMC focal person in PM level IPT’s and coordinates across System Engineering, Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL), Modeling and Simulation (M&S), and Test Working Groups. The Software System Engineer will develop integration test procedures, derived from the applicable Interface Control Document (ICD), providing executable procedures that map back to the system requirements and CONOPs. The Product Integration Engineer will lead analysis of performance from HWIL events and leading development of technical and behavioral fixes in a group environment.


Occasional travel may be required in support of this positon.


Candidate needs to have a record of taking initiative, solving problems, and being a team player in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Experience with software systems engineering is required, and software engineering in an Agile methodology is highly desired. SAFe© Agile experience is a plus.


The candidate must:

  • Be fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset
  • Be a US citizen
  • Be a resident of the Huntsville/Tennessee Valley area
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences, or mathematics,
  • Have a minimum of 7 years combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed above,

Other Qualifications:

  • Software development experience in support of DoD programs is preferred, especially in Army Air and Missile Defense program is highly desired. Experience with Army and Missile Defense Sensors and their integration with MC is preferred. Experience with Patriot Radar algorithms and the associated fire control loop is a plus. A software background in C++ and Modular Open Systems Architectures is helpful, but not required.

  • Candidate must possess (as well as maintain) a US Secret security clearance.
