i3 is seeking an Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Senior Program Protection Engineer (PPE) to work as a member of the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) IFMC Project Office (PO) Systems Engineering Team.


The Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Senior Program Protection Engineer (PPE) will work as a member of the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) IFMC Project Office (PO) Systems Engineering Team.

  • To support development of the Final Anti-Tamper (AT) Plan, support ongoing maturation of the IFMC Program Protection (PP) Plan
  • Execute a holistic threat vulnerability risk assessment (TVRA) of the IFMC System of Systems (SoS), propose engineering and other changes to the IFMC SoS, and keep abreast of emerging AT and PP issues and implementations
  • The PPE will be a source of knowledge and guidance to the Agile software development teams
  • The position will include technical briefings and advisement to leadership on recommended courses of action, trade studies, engineering or other changes, and TVRA impacts to the IFMC mission.
  • The position in NOT one of RMF certification/testing or CVPA/AA execution. This is a PP Engineering position.


The candidate must have experience with authoring and implementing PP Plans, or sections thereof, for tactical, networked weapon or surveillance systems; experience identifying and protecting Critical Program Information (CPI); experience with DoD AT techniques and implementation(s); detailed understanding of information assurance concepts of confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non-repudiation; experience implementing, managing, and using audit trails and logs; and experience implementing or using key management plans. The candidate must be familiar with current cryptographic techniques and implementations, Information Technology (IT), network technologies, and cloud technologies. The candidate must be able to work directly with the Army Anti-Tamper Evaluation Team and the IFMC Agile software developers as needed.


The candidate must:

  • Be fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset
  • Be a US citizen
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering or mathematics
  • Have a minimum of 5 years combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed above
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maitnain a Secret security clearanc or higher

Other Qualifications:
The ability to identify and investigate/analyze areas of concern and develop mitigation activities; independent critical thinking; creativity; and a team attitude are very important. Support and participate in design activities impacted by PP: the prime contractor develops the code based upon government provided designs and guidance.


Certified Technology Protection Officer and experience with threat modeling desired.
