Overview

i3 is seeking a VMWare/Virtualization Administrator to support a model and simulation lab for the Army's Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC) software development effort. The selected applicant will provide troubleshooting support as well as engineering and solution architecting of VMWare vSphere and Horizon VDI environments in a model and simulation lab as part of the software development, test, and integration team.

Responsibilities

The VMWare/Virtualization Administrator responsibilities will include:

  • Build and maintain virtualized infrastructure using VMWare vSphere and Horizon technologies.
  • Provide technical expertise supporting information system components and enterprise environments for a large community (1000+ systems, 300+ users).
  • Assist core team with configuration and maintenance of complex tactical and commercial computer systems.
  • Assist in maintaining system documentation such as SOPs and policies.
  • Conduct day-to-day system administration of the hardware and software in a software test and integration lab.
  • Diagnose and corrects computer, server and network system issues.
  • Perform other IT duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. Degree from an accredited academic institution in a relevant technical discipline or three (3) or more years of relevant technical experience.
  • Must have a customer-centric approach in providing support for the technical and cyber teams as well as the user base community.
  • Experience setting up and maintaining VMWare vSphere for VM cluster management preferred.
  • Experience setting up and maintaining VMWare Horizon VDI environments preferred.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance.
  • Must possess CompTIA Security+ (SY0-501 or newer) or be able to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Additional Desired Skill Sets:

  • Active DOD Secret Clearance highly preferred.
  • Strong Help Desk Support/IT Support background.
  • Experience implementing DOD STIGs.
  • Experience with SCAP, ACAS, and HBSS a plus.
  • Experience with Windows Active Directory and Windows Server 2019.
  • Experience with the DOD Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Experience with RHEL or CentOS 7/8.
  • Strong experience with VMware, ESXi, Horizon, and vCenter.
