i3 is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator to support an Army Contract. The Senior Linux System Administrator will provide technical expertise supporting information system components, infrastructure integration and maintenance to satisfy architectural and business requirements for several stakeholders. The Senior Linux Systems Administrator must have a customer centric approach and provide all level of support for the technical and cyber security team as well as the user base community.


  • Perform cursory analysis on other components of the Program to include, but not limited to, Windows environment; networking components; general architecture and RMF documentation.
  • Provide direct customer service and technical support to local and remote users as required via phone, e-mail, on-line systems and in person.
  • Assist other Administrators in the design and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management.
  • Configure Linux Operating Systems on various hardware baselines and configurations, such as CentOS and Red Hat in accordance with best practices and DISA STIGs.
  • Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems applicable to the compliance of RMF accreditation packages.
  • Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software; coordinates installation and provides necessary recovery operations.
  • Develops and implements testing strategies and documents results.
  • Provides advice and training to end-users and provides mentorship to junior team members.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Coordinate efforts with cyber security personnel to resolve STIG issues.
  • Candidate must have the ability to provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment.
  • Create and perform best practices for server stability & patching, backups, testing and development.
  • Knowledge in networking protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP.
  • Familiarity with software such as Zabbix, Apache, Ansible, oVirt and scripting languages.
  • Experience with storage, backup and disaster recovery technologies.
  • Ability to take on project ownership, satisfy requirements up to completion.
  • Possess experience with file system storage administration, inherent integrity applications, and permission sets.


  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years’ experience or 10 + years equivalent experience
  • Have or able to obtain and maintain active Secret Security Clearance or higher.
  • Have or able to obtain and maintain DoD 8570 IA Certification (Security+ CE).
  • Ability to work with little or no direct supervision and in a team environment.
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills.
