Overview

i3 has an opportunity for a Model-Based Systems Engineer to join our team to support systems engineering and modeling activities.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development of system integration plans, procedures and scenarios used in the conduct of software and hardware system integration testing and performs analysis of integration results to assess system impacts.
  • Utilizes MBSE tools and techniques to support requirements development, system design, and the development of use cases for selected systems.
  • Develops and maintains models using modeling languages such as Unified Modeling Language (UML), Systems Modeling Language (SysML), and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).

  • Develops system models and creates representations using data architectures and data models to facilitate interoperability.
  • Utilizes strong written, communication, and presentation skills, and works effectively in a team environment.
  • Reviews system engineering documentation and model artifacts to ensure accuracy.
  • Participates in the development of trade studies to support the selection preferred design solutions and course of action alternatives in project development/product delivery.
  • Participates in project/program technical risk analysis and mitigation.
  • Analyzes and evaluates systems using MBSE artifacts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 Years of relevant experience with Bachelor's Degree; 0 Years with Master's Degree
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering
  • Experience with Cameo or MagicDraw
  • Proven ability to comprehend/develop/decompose System Architecture and System Requirements (from System Specifications high-level requirements to the lowest level) in a model-based environment
  • Experience with Requirements Impact Assessments, Change Requests, and Engineering Change Proposals
  • Proven ability to understand software systems interface documentation, interconnect diagrams, military standards
  • Active Secret clearance to start and ability to maintain
  • U.S. Citizenship Required

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical experience with IAMD:  C2 with understanding of weapons, sensors, distributed computing and these systems' impact on a command-and-control system's architecture, requirements, and interfaces for communications between these systems
  • Systems Engineering Experience in an Agile environment
  • Experience with Jira
  • Link-16 Experience
  • Familiarity with weapon systems and sensors such as: PATRIOT, Sentinel, G/ATOR, etc.
