Overview

In this role you will work in the Joint Technology Center’s Systems Integration Laboratory (JSIL), in a fast paced and exciting environment building UAS tactical simulation software for the Army and Air Force. This position involves development and evaluations of software through all phases of software development life cycle, including software requirements, specifications, design, coding, prototyping, and testing. The JSIL leverages scrum agile teams to iteratively produce high quality software for the warfighters to train in a realistic simulation environment. Practical development experience of C# desktop applications is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop web-based applications that will serve content to thousands of users across the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • Develop software designs using best practices and object-oriented methodologies. Software will be developed using an agile-scrum development style, in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team including designers, architects, and systems engineers.
  • Perform mid-level development, test, analysis, and validation of software.
  • Collaborate with your team and other business units to provide software solutions, following best practices ensuring a high-quality standard.
  • Familiar with good configuration management practices and will be responsible for proper code maintenance, merging, and configuration management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering required. Additional experience may substitute for degree.
  • 6-12 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum development methodology and associated tools.
  • Experience developing software in C#.
  • Experience debugging code.
  • Experience with Agile development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Communication skills to interface with government and contractors to represent technical and programmatic positions.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
