Overview

i3 is seeking an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Subject Matter Expert to support the development of a basic operations training module on SUAS launch effects. This role will involve working closely with instructional designers using Adobe Captivate to create clear, accurate, and engaging training content. This position is contingent on contract award.

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise on SUAS launch effects, particularly for tube-launched and air-launched platforms.
  • Explain the sequence of events and physical phenomena during launch, including acceleration forces, plume, overpressure, aerodynamic transition, and stabilization.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers to translate technical information into training-friendly narratives, graphics, and animations.
  • Review and validate Captivate course content for accuracy and clarity.
  • Recommend visuals, diagrams, or media assets that support training objectives.
  • Interacts and coordinates with Government customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Hands-on operational experience with SUAS, preferably including tube-launched or air-launched systems.
  • Understanding of launch effects concepts and their operational implications.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with military or commercial SUAS operations and safety protocols.
  • Relative Army gunnery experience. Artillery, Air Defense, Aviation, UAS, or combined arms gunnery.
  • Active Secret Clearance and ability to Maintain Clearance Required.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required

Desired Qualifications:

  • Army Master Gunner
  • Range Safety Officer
  • Experience supporting training development or instructional design teams.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Captivate or similar eLearning tools.
  • Prior military, government, or defense contractor experience in UAS operations.
  • Part 107 SUAS Rating

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
