Overview

As a Modeling and Simulation Software Developer with i3 you will perform a variety of software development tasks in the AFSIM modeling environments, including discrete event simulation, mission model operation, and post-processors of model data.

 

This role requires an active Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility due to the highly classified nature of system development and operations. 


This role is 100% onsite at NASIC (National Air and Space Intelligence Center) located at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, near Dayton, Ohio. 

Responsibilities

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

  • You will assist evaluation of proposed projects for feasibility and applicability to relevant mission areas and related activities.
  • You will provide technical information and analysis to recommend solutions and influence decisions.
  • You will distill and communicate technically complex material to senior decision makers.
  • You must be a self-starter who can execute development procedures on a demanding schedule with minimal supervision.
  • You will collaboration within a team environment while emphasizing individual contributions to produce products that are valuable to the customer.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 10+ years of experience in the use of modeling and simulation software development frameworks. Advanced degrees are preferred, but equivalent military or professional experience may be considered.
  • Experience in model/software development.
  • Experience with C++, C#, R, Python, MATLAB, Mathematica, or Analytica.
  • At a minimum you should have a basic knowledge of analytical methodologies and tools, especially as they apply to the AFSIM models.
  • Ability to demonstrate a pro-active approach to problem solving, willingness to learn and apply new methods as required by the requested analysis approach.
  • Experienced at self-starting, seeking solutions, and works well in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with analytical software packages, especially MATLAB, (DESIRED).
  • Experience in process analysis, concepts of operations with the ability to follow procedures and troubleshoot issues.
  • You must have good people skills and be able to communicate effectively across a highly technical team of engineers and analysts.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • U.S. Citizenship.
