i3 is seeking a hands-on Deputy Operations Manager who is passionate about supporting our people, keeping business units running smoothly, and driving operational excellence to help i3 reach its full potential!

Responsibilities

As a key member of the Corporate Operations team, the Deputy Operations Manager will partner with fellow operations professionals to support the Director of Operations in ensuring efficiency, consistency, training, and alignment across the organization. Acting as a critical bridge between onsite technical teams and corporate business support functions, this role focuses on day-to-day process execution, clear communication, and dependable operations across all business portfolios.

The ideal candidate will support business units and the portfolio in reaching their goals by managing daily operational activities, ensuring processes run smoothly, and delivering consistent, high-quality outcomes that drive the success of the Operations team and the broader organization.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Organize, direct, and manage contract operation support involving interrelated project tasks
  • Support the planning and execution of day-to-day business for the portfolio
  • Coordinate BU-level meetings, ensuring they are properly organized and resourced
  • Provide recommendations, updates, reports, and situational awareness on operational and business activity to Portfolio VP, BU Leads, and Operations leadership
  • Ensure conformance with cost, schedule, and performance priorities
  • Step into interim support roles within the portfolio, as needed
  • Assist in planning and executing formal and informal briefings from project level through C-suite
  • Plan and execute All-Hands meetings, team member engagement opportunities, and smaller events
  • Support corporate events and leadership development activities, as directed
  • Act or sit in on behalf of BU Leads and staff when necessary
  • Engage with corporate leads and maintain situational awareness of activities impacting supported Business Units (Finance, Accounting, Recruiting, Contracts, Security, HR, Procurement, IT, Facilities, Proposals, and Marketing)
  • Represent the Business Unit at industry days, tradeshows, and symposiums
  • Contribute to initiatives at the direction of the Portfolio VP, Business Unit Lead, or Operations leadership
  • Support direct and indirect budget planning and management
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities
  • Support procurement activities
  • Provide guidance and oversight; this position may include supervisory responsibilities

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
  • Experience in leading and growing teams
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years experience in Program Management (Desired)
  • Experience in the Defense Industry (Desired)
  • Experience working on a military base (Desired)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Up to 10% travel may be required

Skills and Certifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) (Desired)
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel (Required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams (Required)
  • Strong Oral and Written Communication (Required)

  • Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
