Senior Level Cloud Engineer

The Tactical Software and Autonomy Solutions (TSAS) team at i3 supports DoD customers in developing cutting-edge autonomy software architectures to distribute autonomous control across a diverse assortment of uncrewed air, ground, surface, and subsurface platforms. The team is seeking a senior level cloud engineer with 10+ years of experience to support a web-based virtual development and simulation environment. This is a new project leveraging a modern tech stack and architecture being developed in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Gov Cloud.

The candidate will work with or lead an Agile software development team delivering value to a DoD customer in small, incremental iterations. The candidate will be responsible for developing both the user interface (UI) and backend of a large web application.

Education, Experience and Required skills:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Have a Bachelor of Science degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or the hard sciences.
• Ten plus years of related experience required.
• Candidate must be a team player and be creative, adaptive, and excited to learn.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with virtualization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Must have Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience.
• Have a current Security+ cert or equivalent for 8140/8570.
• Routine collaboration with team members in developing system capabilities is expected.

• CONUS Travel required: Less than 10%
• Active Secret Clearance preferred. Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance prior to start.

Preferred Experience/Skills:

• Familiarity setting up and managing CI/CD infrastructure withing GitLab.
• Experience with Linux is a plus.
• Experience developing and deploying applications using the following AWS services:
  • Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2)
  • Elastic Container Service (ECS)
  • Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)
  • Elastic Load Balancing (ELB)
  • Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) networking
  • Elastic Block Store (EBS) / Elastic File System (EFS)
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM)
