Overview

i3 is seeking a driven DevSecOps Engineer to help spearhead adoption of modern DevSecOps principles & practices for a large government enterprise environment. Efforts will be focused on providing diverse infrastructure solutions utilizing a variety of Information Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Build, manage, and maintain software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.
  • Participate in designing, planning, and deployment of solutions for the modern enterprise to include:
    • Application & infrastructure monitoring
    • Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
    • Providing technical security input at project inception
    • Platform management and capacity planning
  • Identifying, researching, and applying automation solutions to daily operations.
  • Measure and optimize system performance, with an emphasis on pushing capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and implementing innovative methods for continuous improvement.
  • Assess system architectures and resources for security vulnerabilities and design solution methodologies as an integral part of the System Development Life Cycle.
  • Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large, distributed software applications.
  • Configuration management and system administration for the systems and resources needed to implement new solutions.
  • Assess and research the potential use of development and/or management tools with the purpose of improving efficiency and streamlining operations.
  • Generate and maintain streamlined SOP's & reference documentation that help eliminate team silos.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years of experience. Additional years of experience may be substituted for degree. 
  • 4-10 years working with Linux, preferably RHEL
  • High-level scripting proficiency in one of the following: Python, Go, Ruby, or Bash
  • Familiarity with Virtualization and containerization technologies
  • Experience with a configuration management platform, such as Ansible, Saltstack, or Puppet
  • Strong communication skills adept at translating technical topics to a diverse audience
  • Familiarity with modern software development methodologies
  • Analytical troubleshooting skills
  • Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain Clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD 8570.01-M compliance

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with DevSecOps tools such as: Kubernetes, PodMan, Gitlab, Helm, Trivy, SonarQube, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
  • Experience with designing & analyzing distributed systems
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tool sets
  • Experience with containerization platforms and container orchestration
  • Knowledgeable of zero trust networking principles
  • DoD RMF experience

Knowledge/Skills

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end data lifecycle management (collection, validation, ingestion, dissemination, archival).
  • Familiarity with data governance principles, metadata standards, and retention policy enforcement.
  • Hands-on experience with custom or mission-specific data systems; adaptability to non-COTS environments.
  • Working knowledge of SQL or similar query/reporting tools preferred.
  • Experience with data transfer protocols, data handling, and classified data workflows.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with the ability to interface directly with test data producers, Mission Data Owners (MDOs), and MDA program elements; serves as a subject matter expert on data management processes, standards, and best practices.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to coordinate across government and contractor teams.

  • Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
