Overview

i3 is looking for a Security Specialist to join our team! The Security Specialist ensures the security of the company in matters of classified processing, safeguarding, and access control of personnel, physical security, and proprietary information. Processes security clearances in accordance with government and company procedures.   

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of various plans to include OPSEC, Emergency Action, and Security Policies and Procedures for safeguarding Classified information.
  • Process all security clearance actions in accordance with government and company procedures.
  • Maintain personnel security folders.
  • Provide regular updates to Program Managers and Directors on the status of security management, security violations, badges, clearances, visit requests, etc.
  • Interpret security doctrine and provide clear guidance to company employees.
  • Assist in providing effective security awareness, training, and education (SATE) programs.
  • Conduct initial security briefings, debriefings, pre-/post-foreign travel briefings, refresher briefings, and other briefings as needed.
  • Attend program meetings where security presence is requested or required.
  • Assist with Classified Meeting preparation and support.
  • Escort non-cleared personnel as needed.
  • Review, interpret, and maintain Security Classification Guides.
  • Liaison with other security staff to ensure security policies and procedures are compliant with company, government, and customer requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience required.
  • Must possess practical knowledge of and experience with DISS, NBIS (eApp), and SIMS.
  • Experience with the NISPOM.
  • Experience processing outgoing visit requests (VARS).
  • Experience working with Mission Partner Affiliation Sponsors (formerly TAs) and government POCs.
  • Familiar with the CAC re-verification process.
  • Experience with SPOT and ACCS preferred.
  • Self-starter able to take initiative within a fast-paced environment.
  • Well organized and confident to work independently but be a strong team player.
  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
